Lush alpine meadows, crystal-clear lakes, and peaks offering views as far as the Wild Kaiser: In summer, Kitzbühel reveals itself in a lively yet relaxed manner.
Around Kitzbühel, about 1,000 kilometers of marked hiking trails await – from leisurely strolls to summit tours. The mountain railways on the Hahnenkamm and Kitzbüheler Horn take you comfortably to the heights, where panoramic paths and rustic alpine huts await.
Especially beautiful: the view from Kitzbüheler Horn on the limestone peaks of the Wilder Kaiser and the Hohe Tauern.
On the Kitzbüheler Horn lies one of the most beautiful alpine flower gardens in the Alps. In addition to native mountain flowers, rare plants from the Caucasus, Andes, Pyrenees, and Himalayas grow here.
Located just about 2 km west of Kitzbühel, Schwarzsee is a moor lake and one of the warmest swimming lakes in the Alps. The beach area, with a large sunbathing lawn, boat rentals, and views of the Wilder Kaiser, is a favorite spot for locals on summer days.
A stroll around the lake is also worthwhile – especially beautiful in the early evening.
Whether it's a leisurely valley loop, an e-bike tour to the alpine huts, or a challenging mountain bike route: the region boasts over 750 kilometers of cycling paths. In Hahnenkamm, there are also bike trails for those looking for a more sporty experience.
We're happy to provide tips on tours and bike rentals in the area.
Kitzbühel is regarded as the Golf Center of the Alps: 4 golf courses are located directly in Kitzbühel, with around 30 more in the surrounding area – all set against a breathtaking mountain backdrop.
You can find the exact dates in the event calendar of Kitzbühel Tourism.
